James Meacham produces to the Court the certificate of
his election ot the office of constable for the 3rd
district in the county who gives bond of $6,000 as the
law directs with James Hughes, Taylor Jones and Green
Meacham as his securities and is duely sworn.

James Meacham Died Intestate 6Mar1851. Mathew Meacham
was appointed Admr. in April term of court. James
Meacham died the owner of a negro girl named Eliza.
Matthew thinks she should be sold to pay debts of the
estate. She was sold at Hillsborough. She was sold to
Eliza (sic) {probably should be Elisha.} for $240 and
was regarded as being unsound. Sold 10Jan1852.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that James
Meacheam late of the county is dead, and Matthew
Meacheam having made applicatiom to this court to be
admitted administrator upon his estate having given
bond of $1500 conditioned as the law directs, with John
F. Cox, William Burns, and John A. Wilkins his sureties
and having been duely sworn, ordered that letters of
administration issue to him accordingly. (Williamson

Freeholders, unconnected with the parties, either by
consanguinity or affinity are appointed commissioners
who being first duly sworn for the purpose shall alot
and set apart to Rosana Meacham, relect of James
Meacham dec'd so much of the crop, stock, provisions
and money on hand or due on to her assets, as may be
necessary for the support and maintenance of the said
widow and the family until the expiration of one year
from the decease of her said husband to report to next
