Nancy age 42 House Keeper; Allen Son age 15; William
son age 12; Mack son age 10; Amanda daughter age 8;
Alexander son age 6; Ader daughter age 4; Dolly
daughter age 2. Everybody including James and Nancy's
parents born in Tennessee. James and Nancy cannot

(Note: Dolly Conn's death certificate shows her birth
date as August 11,1886 but she is in this census,
therefore, Dolly who died July 31, 1959 was really 80
years old at her death. Informant was her surviving
husband Frank Winford. She is buried in the Jefferson
Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Ala where she lived.
Certificate of death 16868 State of Alabama. She died
of intestinal obstruction due to adhesions.)

in marriage to Miss Alein Conn daughter of Mr. J. A.
Conn of this place. Esq. Martin tied the nuptial

The Grand Jurors state that James Conn did on the 1st
day of March 1882 in Frankin County, TN unlawfully
enter upon the premises of one Mrs. Sophia Suns and
knowingly and willfully carry away the lumber of the
said Mrs. Suns then and there being to wit two wagon
loads of railings (looks like pailings) and one wagon
load of posts belonging to the said Mrs. Suns.
contrary to the form of the statue in such cases made
and provided and against the peace and dignity of the

Harry Suns, Henry Suns and Frank Woods are called as
witnesses. Harry Sons married Mary E. Conn 11Jul1876.

marry W. O. Conn and Mollie Bowling. (Franklin County

Deed J. A. Conn to J. L. Haynes: Know all men by
these presents that for and in consideration of the
sum of one hundred and twenty two and 50/100 dollars
to me in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged-- I have this day transferred and
conveyed unto J. L. Haynes a lot of land situated in
Decherd, Franklin, Tenn and bounded as follows to wit:
on the south fronting Depot Avenue 25 feet running
north 100 feet and west 25 feet and thence South 100
feet to the beginning on Dr. Cherry's corner --
Containing 1/8 acres more or less -- The same being a
lot sold to Simmons and Curtis by Tom Shoppard -- I
covenant with the said J. L. Haynes that I am lawfully
seized and possessed of said land and have a good
right to convey the same and that said land is
unemcumbered and that I warrant and defend the title
to said against the lawful claims of all persons
whomsoever. Witness my hand this 6 the Day of

State of Tn. Vs. James Conn Grand Jurors state that
on 5th of Aug 1890 James Conn did unlawfully and
scandalously make an indecent exposure of his private
parts in the public gaze on the streets of Decherd
When the people was passing going and returning which
was a public place to the great scandel and common
nusiance of all the people. (loose Records Franklin
County archives.) Later document calles Bill Gulespie,
Bill Jones, Mack Conn and Will Mullican as witnesses.
Another document for two hundred fifty dollar bond has
James making his mark dated 10Nov1890.

Deed Mrs. M. J. Sanders to J. A. Conn: For and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars ($100)
cash to me in hand paid the receipt of which is herein
acknowledged, I have this day bargained and sold and
do hereby transfer and convey to J. A. Conn his heirs
etc., the following described lot or parcel of land
situated in the town of Decherd Franklin County Tenn.
in civil district No. 1 and being twenty-five feet
front and running back 100 feet and being a portion of
lot ( ) commencing at Eliason's corner and with his
line 100 feet back and being a portion of the lots "S
& W" conveyed to me by E. H. Lanford on the 19th day
of November 1872, To have and to hold the same unto
the said J. A. Conn his heirs and assigns forever. I
covenant that I am lawfully seized of said lot of land
and have a right to convey it and that the same is
unemcumbered. I bind myself, my heirs to warrant and
defend the title of the said lot against the lawful
claims of all persons whomsoever. This Aug. 9th 1890
